The motors in your Robo Wunderkind kit are the only modules with moving pieces. As such, it requires care to keep these motors in good working order.
There are two main recommendations for caring for the motors:
- Do not turn the motor by hand. When a wheel or other module is plugged into the rotating face of the motor, it is easy to grab and turn. A small, gentle turn of the rotating face by hand will not damage the motor. However, fast or forceful turning will permanently damage the gears in the motor.
- Avoid driving your Robo through thick dust, sand, or terrain with loose soil. If these small particles get into the motor through the gap between the rotating face and the body of the module, they can interfere with the gears in the motor and lead to reduced functionality or permanent damage.
